Thanks to AfiDart for pulling out the stops and putting on a very good event. With 38 boats entered, it was great to see friends and competitors after a 2 year break from France, Holland, Luxembourg, Belgium and UK.

Four days of racing was held off Juno Beach on the Normandy coast. It started with a very windy first day and only one race completed due to strengthening wind and strong wind warning. This was won by Rob Garcka & Fi Goegebeur GBR.

The proceeding two days saw moderate Easterlies that favoured the left side with Rob & Fi maintaining good average results of 1, 2 and 3.

The last day was a very bumpy Northerly with Dave & Louise Roberts getting three bullets closely by Rob & Fi who maintained their overall lead to win the event. Well done to RO and team for getting all nine races in.

Congratulations to Rob Garcka & Fi Goegebeur GBR for 1st, 2nd Dave & Louise Roberts GBR and 3rd place Hervey & Milania Le Maux FRA.

Decisions, decisons.. When you have more than 160 boats in Poole Harbour doing battle with a wind that's oscillating back and forth, you can almost hear the cogs whirring as the crews decide which end of the line to start and which way to go up the first beat. Posted on 22 Aug 2023
