The Scorpion Class has been enjoying huge resurgence and success over the last few years, with a hugely successful Championships in Penzance last year, and a sold-out Championships by the end of February at Looe SC coming up at the end of July.

The second-hand market remains very buoyant and there are more new boats being built and sold than has happened for a long time. P&B are now selling Winder built plastic boats, JJ are making new boats, Paintcraft and Gosling Dinghies are building or refurbishing existing boats, which is proving a very popular way of getting very competitive boats back on the water.

Suddenly 20 plus year old boats are back at the front of the fleet, showing the strength in the original design and build. To help support this success, the Class Committee are super excited to announce the class has successfully launched a new website.

The website is at the same URL (address) as the old website - www.sailscorpion.co.uk - but has been built from scratch by Nick Lightbody, who has sailed Scorpions for a number of years, using FileMaker code. The site is a mobile first site, and as such designed to work quickly and present well on mobile devices.

The site has all the details about joining the association, upcoming events, where you can enter online, find out the best places to get second-hand boats, supplementing the class WhatsApp groups and presenting a fabulous Scorpion historic archive.

The first port of call for anything Sail Scorpion.
