Zhik is continuing its long term association with some of the world's best sailing athletes by announcing the brand as the Official Supplier of Technical Sailing Gear to the New Zealand SailGP Team.

Headed up by long term Zhik ambassadors, the highly decorated duo of Peter Burling and Blair Tuke, the New Zealand SailGP Team comprises a strong line-up of Kiwi sailing talent with America's Cup, Volvo Ocean Race and Olympic pedigrees.

The team includes Finn World Cup Champion and AC35 winner, Josh Junior, AC35 winner Andy Maloney and Nacra 17 athletes Liv Mackay and Erica Dawson.

The New Zealand Team is using SailGP's exciting new format of racing and its global platform to champion action for a healthy ocean through its Race For The Future partnership with marine conservation charity Live Ocean Foundation.

Piet Poelman, Zhik CEO explains, "The Zhik team are very excited about this opportunity to build on our long term association with Peter, Blair and top level New Zealand sailors. Supporting this world-class SailGP Team in one of the world's most high profile, mainstream TV sailing events is a superb fit for Zhik, with our focus on creating the highest performing, more sustainable technical apparel."

New Zealand SailGP Team Co-CEO Peter Burling adds, "It's awesome to welcome Zhik to the New Zealand SailGP Team. We know and trust Zhik's high performance products, and it's been amazing to be part of their ongoing development. Their move towards launching more sustainable products, which we were testing for Tokyo 2020, aligns perfectly with the team's goals."

Zhik's Sponsorship Manager, Johnny Rodgers comments, "The New Zealand SailGP Team has demonstrated its commitment to the environment by being crowned SailGP Season 2 Impact League champions, sport's first podium for purpose. We are on a journey with Zhik's sustainability plan to create more environmentally friendly garments for a better future for our oceans and planet. It's a continuous learning process and we look forward to sharing knowledge with the New Zealand SailGP Team as part of this partnership."
