In the biggest product launch for five years, world-leading performance clothing brand Musto has unveiled a range of MPX Offshore products, designed for cruising and offshore race training.
"When training in rough weather conditions, professional offshore sailors spend long days far out at sea", said Nick Houchin, Musto's Head of Marketing. "They need durable gear that will protect them from adverse weather, but it cannot be too heavy, to the point where it impedes boat handling. Musto have made technological innovations in the MPX Offshore range in response, including a new generation of GORE-TEX Pro* membranes and lighter garments for improved functionality".
Sam Goodchild, Musto Ambassador and skipper of the 50ft trimaran Leyton, commented: "The new Musto MPX Offshore collection offers me the durability I need in challenging weather conditions, while being lightweight enough to wear during sustained physical activity. I wore it out training in the Bay of Biscay and you need real protection during those long training days."
The entire range of MPX products are built with a new generation of GORE-TEX Pro membranes, which are waterproof and windproof with an enhanced durability, enabling them to withstand the harsh demands of offshore sailing. The 3-layer GORE-TEX Pro membrane is constructed with a recycled nylon face fabric and a solution-dyed tricot backer for strong abrasion and tear resistance.

- Hard-wearing, reinforced lower back panel protects the GORE-TEX Pro fabric when sat on non-skid decks and other rough surfaces

- Available for men and women.
- Wrap-around construction at the seat of the trousers for enhanced durability and ease of access, tested and taken from Musto's HPX collection.
- New and improved buckle free straps for improved comfort.
- To reduce overall bulk, the handwarmer pockets on the chest have been redesigned with a GORE-TEX Pro liner.
- Additional adjuster tab below the knee has been introduced so wearers can adjust the trousers to wear over boots.
- Reinforced CORDURA®* knees, seat and hem increase the strength of the trousers.
