The Global Solo Challenge (GSC) 2023/2024 organisers are proud to announce a crucial partnership with leading marine electronics brand Raymarine. This agreement contributes to the development of the event and provides skippers with much-needed equipment as well as direct support in preparing their boats for their circumnavigation.

On-board navigation and situational awareness systems are an integral part of modern-day offshore sailing and racing. Raymarine provides sailors solutions designed and tested to meet the needs of skippers whether they are cruising coastal waters or crossing the oceans.

Reliable autopilots, accurate sensors and clear instruments are essential for GSC competitors who will encounter some of the most challenging navigation conditions during their solo, unassisted, round-the-world, non-stop challenge.

Modern technology is a precious aid to the safety of sailors at sea in general and GSC skippers in particular, whether it is in driving their boat, warning about the risk of a collision or communication.

Headquartered in Fareham, UK, Raymarine is a division of Teledyne, with a comprehensive range of marine electronics renowned for their ease of use, rugged design, and reliability and engineered to deliver the best in visual navigation information.

"We are particularly pleased with this important announcement, which marks a milestone for the event. The collaboration with such a prestigious and renowned brand will contribute to the long-term affirmation of the GSC in the panorama of global offshore sailing events." - commented event organiser Marcon Nannini.

"Skippers entering the GSC will face one of the ultimate sailing challenges. Sailing single handed around the world requires great experience and a great sense of adventure. Raymarine is proud to design and build products tested to survive in offshore sailing. We wish all entrants every success", added Gregoire Outters - General Manager, Raymarine & Teledyne FLIR Maritime.

With around eighteen months to the start of the Global Solo Challenge (GSC) 2023-2024, skippers' preparation and boat refits are well under way for the 47 entries representing 15 different nationalities.
