Do you know a hardworking volunteer who really makes a difference in helping others get on the water? Whether it's mowing the lawn, helming the safety boat, running events or just getting stuck in wherever needed- it all counts.

An RYA Volunteer Award is the perfect way to say thank you.

With lots of categories to choose from, the awards recognise the outstanding contribution made by volunteers throughout the UK. Not only rewarding the longest-standing volunteers but also families, committed youngsters and most importantly, those that have had an impact.

All recipients and their guests will be invited to a special presentation ceremony and luncheon in London this November.

Read more information about the volunteers and make your nomination before 02 May.

Celebrate the women at your club with Steering The Course

World Sailing's Steering the Course festival takes place from Friday 20th to Sunday 29th May. The aim is to introduce women and girls across the globe to the sport of sailing, whilst also providing inspiration and awareness about roles and opportunities within the sport.

The RYA will be supporting the campaign with a social media takeover. If your venue runs women on the water sessions, female club races, or any other initiatives then we would love to hear from you!

You may also want to celebrate the women at your club including coaches, instructors, mark layers, race officials, helm or trimmers and volunteers.

We'd also love to share your content on social media. Clubs taking part are invited to share their activities by registering or tagging their RYA Region or Home Country on social media.

The hash tag is #SteeringTheCourse

The John Merricks Sailing Trust Scheme

The JMST and RYA OnBoard Scheme is now open for nominations for its 10th year. Once again, venues as well as parents and guardians can nominate individuals.

Individuals who are showing a commitment to the sport who would not ordinarily have the financial backing to own their equipment can be nominated to receive the following for two years; RS Tera, Optimist, Topper, Bic Techno or Ilca 4. After two years of exclusive use, the equipment will be owned by the supporting venue. For more information, visit the JMST homepage.

There will be at least one winner in each of the seven English reasons as well as each of the Home Countries.

Before making a nomination, please read the Notice of Selection to check eligibility.

When you are ready, you can complete a Declaration of Eligibility.
