The RS Aero will be a part of the Hempel World Cup Allianz Regatta, which is taking place from 27 May to 5 June 2022 in Almere, Netherlands.

Renowned for being the most technically advanced boat in its sector, the RS Aero is no stranger to the world stage and is a great fit for the new 'Racing of the Future' Course which aims to showcase equipment innovation and a cultural shift that celebrates the future of our sport.

The innovative RS Aero design includes an impressive list of sustainable credentials. The 30kg hull, significantly minimises weight and efficient manufacture, and its efficient stacking system allows over 28 boats to be loaded into a 40' shipping container, minimising freight cost and the carbon footprint of distribution to dealers and regattas. Further supported with robotic racing marks and an electric rib, the Pulse 63 provided by RS Sailing's sister brand RS Electric Boats, the 'Racing of the Future' course is really shaping up to be at the forefront of sustainable dinghy racing.

Alongside its passion for sustainability, the International RS Aero Class celebrates inclusivity. The RS Aero's modern design enables a broader spectrum of sailors to compete at the pinnacle of this fleet. This, paired with a charter fleet of 20 brand new RS Aero's, provided by RS Sailing, opens up participation to sailors from outside of the class or travelling from further afield.

Peter Barton, the International RS Aero Class Manager commented, "The International RS Aero Class is very excited to be included in the Hempel World Cup Allianz Regatta this year and thanks the organisers for their invitation. RS Sailing providing a large charter fleet gives the opportunity for sailors new to the RS Aero to join current Class members at this prestigious event. It will be very interesting to watch the event progress with the new RS Aero Class at this World Sailing event and we look forward to building on this in the future."

The RS Aero Class is an established International Class and winner of the 2019 World Sailing Equipment Trials for the 2024 Men's and Women's One Person Dinghy Event. With the RS Aero World Championship taking place in The Gorge, Oregon, United States in June, followed by the Inaugural RS Aero Youth World Championship taking place in Weymouth, United Kingdom this July, recognition of the RS Aero's potential by being included in the 'Race of the Future' course further showcases that the RS Aero Class is truly international, inclusive and going from strength to strength.

Marieke Rot-Gijzel, the RS Sailing Netherlands Representative, commented, "Selection to be a part of the Hempel World Cup Allianz Regatta will further support the ongoing growth of the RS Aero Class in the Netherlands and across wider Europe. We are looking forward to welcoming a diverse group of sailors to the event and bringing some of the famed RS Sailing culture to the event too!"

The Notice of Race is due to be updated shortly. Please find further information about the event here and visit here to charter an RS Aero during the Hempel World Cup Allianz Regatta.
