Miracle Midland Area Championship at Staunton Harold Sailing Club - Preview

We're looking forward to a fantastic weekend with sailing, socialising, sunshine and hopefully the perfect wind!

In advance and on the day

  • Please sign up in advance online. Note that payment is on the day - but signing up, allows us to ensure the best racing for the event.
  • Registration from 9:30 am on Saturday
  • The warning signal for the first race will be on/ after 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and...
  • Up to 5 races will be sailed. We are looking to schedule two races on the Saturday afternoon with the GP14 fleet and a further 2 races on Sunday morning and a final race, on Sunday afternoon. Note that some races may be back to back and all races will be all weather conditions depending.
  • Entry fee £30 for visiting boats payable on the day and FOC for SHSC members' boats this year.
And of course the galley and bar will be open!

Social meal

On Saturday we will be hosting an evening meal - please let us know via the sign up form if you would like to join us.

Where to stay / local information

Find links to places to stay here. Please note that visiting sailors can enjoy camping on-site - please let us know in advance if you will be camping. For your supporters, in addition to cheering you on from the comfort of our club house and grounds, there are lovely walks around the sailing club and the National Trust's Calke Abbey close by is a great place to visit. Plus of course Melbourne Village is just a five minute drive away, an attractive Georgian market town with a range of shops, pubs and restaurants.

A new venue for the Tuesday Club, with a steep learning curve Port Dinorwic was a new venue for the Tuesday Club seeing 31 boats on the water with some of the sailors having not sailed in tidal waters it was looking like an interesting day with a steep learning curve (keep an eye on the locals!) Three races held ahead of Storm Floris The Race Officer made the decision to hold three races on Sunday 3rd August with Storm Floris scheduled to arrive on Monday, with a severe wind forecast. We set off in good time, with a 30-minute sail to the race area. Posted on 4 Aug

24 boats of varying classes took to the waters of Llyn Tegid Llyn Tegid saw the Border Counties Midweek Sailing Tuesday club return for another great day of sailing on this large lake winds were predicted and they didn't disappoint with a good breeze throughout the day. Posted on 17 Jul

Miracle Midlands Championship at Staunton Harold
A great start to the season despite the challenging conditions Staunton Harold Sailing Club hosted the first Miracle class event of the year over the May Whit Bank Holiday weekend. Desp — after at least three teams decided against making the trip due to the conditions. Posted on 4 Jun

Miracle End of Season Championship at Shustoke
Beautiful autumn sunshine on the Saturday and a mostly dry day on the Sunday Shustoke Sailing Club played host for the Miracle End of Seasons on 5th and 6th October.
