The 2000 Class ran a very successful training weekend at Thorney Island S.C. in Chichester Harbour over the weekend 9 - 10 April. 28 sailors in 14 boats enjoyed fantastic conditions of sunshine and 7 to 15 knots of breeze, and completed the weekend with full brains and well-worked bodies!

Two on the water sessions each day were sandwiched between briefings and debriefs each time, covering:

  • boat set up
  • spinnaker system
  • trim / balance
  • tacking and gybing effectively
  • slow speed control
  • holding position
  • accelerating

These events don't happen by accident, they've been planned over the winter for many months, so thanks to Simon Horsfield Coaching, Thorney Island SC and in particular their excellent 2000 Fleet Captain Jonathan Dannatt, and Noble Marine Insurance our 2000 Class Training Sponsor.

The next 2000 Class training day is Sunday 1st May at Chichester YC, following the West Country Boat Repairs Millennium Series event on the preceding day April 30th also at Chichester YC.
