2022 Marblehead RM Ranking 2 a Norwich Model Yacht Club

by Duncan Ellis 21 Mar 2022 20:22 GMT 20 March 2022

Norwich Model Yacht Club hosted the second Marblehead ranking event of 2022 on Sunday 20th March with Vinnie Zammit again taking charge of the event with his team Graham Nelson, Andrew Francis, Barry Graver and Val Zammit.

The breeze was still blowing from the east as it did the day before for the previous ranking but was a little less starting the day with 15 knots and reducing as the day progressed to finish with zero!

The entry list was similar to the day before but with the addition of Peter and Oliver Stollery from Guildford.

Rig choice today started with B and C moving up to swing rigs by most sailors before the lunch break.

As the breeze decreased to zero knots mid-afternoon, then started coming from the opposite direction and then disappearing again Vinnie Zammit wrapped the day up with full agreement from the sailors.

Peter Stollery showed consistency pays dividends taking the day with second place more tightly contested finishing in the order of Tony Edwards, Graham Bantock, Duncan Ellis and Austin Guerrier.

Special Mention to Alf Reynolds who had a perfect start in the final race of the day with a top 3 finish and to Oliver Stollery who popped in a 4th during the day - One to watch in the future!

Another good day on the water!
