Two new boats owned by Wakatipu Yacht Club in Queenstown may be the southernmost RS Quest in the world. And a new boat owned by the Thompson family is just a little further north in Twizel.

If you live in the Mackenzie region in New Zealand or are passing through, look out for the Thompson family who have bought a new RS Quest and are making great use of it on Lake Ruataniwha.

Here’s an awesome video of their first outing.

They don’t leave much else for us to say about the RS Quest! Suffice to say, there are now over 50 RS Quests in New Zealand and customers not only include sailing clubs but also families who choose them for their bach or other sailing adventures. Several have gone to grandparents buying them for their grand-children.

Wakatipu Yacht Club has, like many other clubs, taken ownership of two RS Quests, for use in Learn to Sail programmes. Learning to sail in groups is a lot of fun whatever age you are, the two green and white boats can now be seen sailing around Lake Wakatipu from the club in Frankton.
