Marine 13 sponsor the GP14 Midland Area Championship at Chase SC on 26-27 March

by Alex Walton 9 Mar 2022 13:24 GMT 26-27 March 2022

Chase Sailing Club & the GP14 Class Association are pleased to announce Marine 13 as a sponsor for the GP14 Midland Areas on 26th/27th March.

We would like to thank Marine 13 for their on going support of the club, who are regularly supplied with prizes from this local business.

Marine 13 is run by Dave Harvey. He has worked in the marine trade all his working life. Initially in 1981 as a sailmaker working for the late great Richard Estaugh.

He had a flair for making fast sails and in a 24-year stint at Speeds managed to make multiple National winning sails in 17 classes and world championship sails in 3 classes also sails for two Olympians before they hit the big time. He then re-located to a sailmaker and world leader in tensile fabric architecture based in South Wales. Here he made huge structures and also stage sets for Iron Maiden, Madonna, Rolling Stones and U2 to name drop a few.

He then spent a number of years working for Plastimo, XM Yachting and Gul selling marine products and technical clothing to the trade. Marine 13 was set up in 2014 and is an eBay based outlet selling Sail, Surf and Lifestyle products. Most of this is end of lines and clearance so there is a deal to be had.

Again, we would like to thank Marine 13 for their continued support.
