Burton Sailing Club has been in existence for over 100 years (founded 1902). Initially based on the river in Burton-on-Trent but now enjoys the excellent sailing facilities at Foremark Reservoir near Ticknall amidst the dramatic Derbyshire countryside, in the heart of the National Forest. The club is situated within easy reach of Derby, Nottingham, Burton, Leicester and Loughborough. The reservoir covers 230 acres and is easily the premier sailing venue in the area. The club is an accredited Royal Yachting Association (RYA) training centre and runs RYA approved training courses.

This years programme features:

5 national championship events
An open day
A summer regatta
Open meetings for fleets of sailors from all over the country
Youth events
Over 15 RYA training classes
National training venue for youth fleets (Laser)

We expect to have hundreds of visiting sailors and boats for championship racing as well as a very active social and training calendar. This will be the busiest year in our 100 year history and puts Burton Sailing Club in the top tier of sailing clubs in the UK. Sailing is very much a focus sport within the 2012 Olympics, our race events and commitment to RYA training and youth coaching is in line with that. Britain consistently tops the table in international sailing regattas, need to continue lineage for continuing success.

The programme of events is as follows:

21-22 April 2007, 505 Inland Championships
28-29 April 2007, Enterprise Inland Championships
