The application period is now open for the 2022 National Marine Representatives Association (NMRA) Marine Trades Scholarship program in the USA. The deadline for receipt of applications is April 1, 2022.
Since 2008, NMRA has actively contributed to the future of the marine industry by offering scholarships to students pursuing education in the marine trades.
The 2021 NMRA Scholarship of $3,000 was awarded to Xavier Bedell of Brimley, Michigan, who is attending the Great Lakes Boat Building School.

A past scholarship recipient is Noah Luff, who graduated from the California Maritime Academy in April, 2018 with a marine transportation degree and is now employed by the Washington State Ferries. Grateful to the NMRA for its support in his educational goals, Luff now aspires to become a boat captain. When asked how he'd advise his past self, Luff said he'd counsel to persevere, take it one day at a time, and remember to keep things in perspective.
