Specialist galley manufacturer GN Espace will be revealing its brand new OceanChef XL electric induction cooker at METSTRADE in Amsterdam on 16-18 November 2021.

Built in marine grade stainless steel to the highest standards of craftsmanship and incorporating the latest energy saving technology the new extra-large professional marine cooker is designed with large-sized luxury cruising and charter yachts, typically 60-90ft, in mind.

Manufactured in the UK, the OceanChef XL packs some cutting-edge features into its sleek look, for safe, stylish, convenient and fun meal preparation for guests and crew. The perfect solution for boat owners and charter operators looking to go fully electric on board, the OceanChef XL combines in a single cavity the benefits of induction cooking on the hob with the practical features of a multifunction oven and powerful grill.

At 62cm wide the OceanChef XL features a versatile four-zone induction hob. Zones can also be combined into larger areas by bridging them into one or two oval cooking zones. Sturdy removeable sea-rail hob surround and adjustable pan clamps ensure safe cooking at sea.

The roomy and fast-heating Gastronorm-based oven is a professional sized 53 litre capacity that can accommodate a range of Gastronorm dishes and trays like the professional standard full size stainless steel GN1/1 dishes, available from GN Espace. With a maximum heat setting of 250°C the OceanChef oven is also perfect for baking. It is fully insulated and has a powerful fan heating element providing even heat distribution through the interior. The grill is flush fitting giving extra height and a design that allows you to cook on three levels at once. The cookware is held safely in place by the oven frame which also has a safety stop to avoid hot food accidentally sliding out of the oven when the door is opened. A unique ECO Fan setting reaches the most widely used oven temperature (180 degreesC) in less than half the time it takes for a traditional electric oven to reach its higher equivalent temperature, saving time and valuable electricity.

The OceanChef XL's energy management system is designed for optimum performance while conserving consumption to a limit of 8.5kW, 25% less than an equivalent domestic four-zone induction hob and electric oven which, until now, has typically been installed on larger sailing yachts.

The OceanChef XL is set to become the choice of builders of new sailing and motor yachts but it can also be retrofitted by owners wanting to replace an older cooker. The dimensions are the same as GN Espace's ubiquitous LPG version of the OceanChef cooker and will fit into the housing of this and similar cooker models.

The OceanChef XL is now available direct from manufacturer GN-Espace who can also provide a full range of kitchen accessories to create a beautiful and practical interior galley space. The first OceanChef XL models are already being fitted as standard to a range of luxury blue water sailing yachts currently in build to be ready for autumn 2021 delivery.
