We are very pleased to announce our next RWYC ambassador, Paddy Hutchings. Paddy is a Plymouth sailor currently developing a campaign for the Solitare Du Figaro 2022. This is one of the highest profile one-design race events in Europe.

The Solitare Du Figaro has been going since 1970. In the past it has been a breeding ground and springboard for sailors such as Phillipe Poupon, Laurent Bourgnon, Yves Parlier, Michel Desjoyeaux, Charles Caudrelier, Armel Le Cleac'h, Jeremie Beyou and Yohann Richomme to name but a few.

He has recently been working with Boris Hermann and, our other club ambassador, Pip Hare within their recent Vendee Globe campaigns. Paddy also holds sustainability high on his agenda. #sail4sustainability is a project launched by Paddy to help educate and raise awareness towards plastic pollution in the ocean. Recently Paddy signed a sponsorship deal with 'Gill Clothing', a big step towards his immediate short term racing goals. He is clearly doing all the right things and we are very excited to be involved with him in his journey towards the biggest challenges our sport is able to offer.

Currently participating in the first stage of that build up this week, at Spi Ouest France in the Figaro 3 class, Paddy also has a website here, where you can find out more about this Plymouth sailor, his plans and how he gets on as he builds his campaign towards his goals.
