Moths descend on Rutland Water for Inlands

This coming weekend of October 9 and 10 will see the UK International Moth Class Inland Championship held at Rutland Sailing Club.
A tricky predicted forecast has done little to dampen the enthusiasm of skippers, with a solid entry looking to get their individual 2023 Weymouth Worlds programs off on the right foot.
The standard will be high with a number of returning skippers from the recent Worlds in Garda present, led by top Corinthian skipper Dave Hivey racing an Exocet. Others looking to lay down a challenge for the International Moth Bowl include Eddie Bridle with a Thinair, Olympic medalist Simon Hiscocks in his newly acquired Bieker, Alex Adams with a Rocket and this years wild card, past winner Dan Ellis returning to pilot a freshly launched Maverick.
Adding to the fresh launch list will be the R2 kit build of Chris White making the trek from Falmouth, Sam Curtis with his Thinair, the reworked Bladerider of Brad Gibson and maybe, just maybe an appearance from the new Aerocet from the Maguire stable.
There are plenty of other experienced campaigners in this line up. What is certain is that we will have a fleet eager to better themselves racing a full cross section of foiling Moth designs and setups covering all standards from novice, to legend racing innovative home builds, to turn key winning weapons.
