GOST® (Global Ocean Security Technologies), a world leader in marine security, tracking, monitoring and video surveillance systems for over 16 years, announced today its NT-Evolution IDP SM product thwarted an attempted boat theft in Boca Raton, Florida.

Just after four in the morning, October 6, 2021, the GOST Security, Monitoring, and Global tracking system notified the owner via text that the system had been triggered. The event was captured on a security camera from across the street and it is clear from the footage that two individuals climbed on board to either steal equipment, gear or perhaps the entire boat itself. Immediately, the system triggered an alarm and strobe, causing the perpetrators to flee. The vessel, a 37-foot Boston Whaler with three 350 horsepower engines was located on a private slip on State Route A1A.

"It appears they were going for the electronic displays," said Brian Kane, chief technology officer, GOST. "Preventing marine Electronics from being stolen off the boat is now more important than ever before. Given supply chain and chipset shortages, our customers can't afford the down time of not being able to safely and efficiently operate their boat for fishing tournaments and leisure trips for what could be many months before stock is available."

"I woke this morning to see a number of text messages from my GOST system," said Bobby Dangelo, vessel owner. "After reviewing my security footage, I realized how close I had come to being ripped off. I am so happy that my vessel came through this unscathed and I would recommend that everyone consider the benefits of a security and monitoring system from GOST."

The GOST NT-Evolution Security, Monitoring and Satellite Tracking Package includes the GOST NT-Evolution, two wireless remote key fobs, a set of wireless dual optical infrared beam sensors, a mini siren, high intensity strobe, a high water sensor and a pull sensor. The system makes it impossible for a vessel to leave the dock without setting off the siren and strobe. It also alerts boat owners if someone disconnects the vessel's batteries, if the battery voltage is getting low or if the vessel starts to take on water. The system was installed by Maz Ocean, located in Dania Beach, Florida.
