The annual open meeting for catamarans at Grafham Water is back and will take place on 30th & 31st October. Over 70 boats are expected. This event has a reputation for being extremely sociable with highlights including an evening meal, open bar and on-site camping.

Two race courses will be in use. Boats with an SCHRS handicap below 1.175 will race on a windward-leeward course with separate starts for single handers and double handers.

Boats with SCHRS 1.175 to 1.40 inclusive will race around a trapezoid course. This course will host the Sprint 15 Inland Championship and also a Shearwater Class open meeting. The Sprint 15 will have a separate start.

The windward-leeward course typically features a good number of Formula 18s, assorted Nacras, A class (classics and foiling) and Spitfires. Plenty of high speed competitive racing is on offer.

The trapezoid course will have a big fleet of Sprint 15s along with normally a good number of Dart 18s, Catapults and this year Shearwaters. This classic boat will be a welcome addition to the event.

Entry is now open and can be made online here via WebColletc. Camping and campervan spaces can be booked here.

Grafham Water SC offers some of the best inland sailing in the country and is open to all classes of boat with strong fleets of catamarans, Lasers, Solos, RS classes and Flying Fifteens.
