Discover Cyclops Technology at Cannes, Southampton & Genoa

Since Cyclops launched its flagship "smart" range of wireless load sensors through 2019 and 2020 they have been helping sailors win regattas and move up fleets all over the world. From the America's Cup, to The Rolex Fastnet Race, to the recent return of the 52 Super Series, and for weekend sailors everywhere, smartlink and smarttune have had a widespread impact. During this time, however, with the ongoing global pandemic it has hardly been possible to demonstrate Cyclops' game-changing technology at the world's top boat shows. That's all about to change this boat show season—starting with Cannes Yachting Festival (7-12 Sept), Southampton International Boat Show (10-19 Sept), and Genoa International Boat Show (16-21 Sept).

smartlink and smarttune sensors (for soft and standing rigging respectively) connect wirelessly to a smartphone app or to on-board displays and give sailors a competitive advantage by providing:

  • Accurate load figures they can use to set up to their tuning guide.
  • Live feedback from adjustments on the water & the ability to hit their fastest settings again and again.
  • Logged load data they can upload to sailing analytics software to keep improving and use in coaching sessions.

These benefits are making Cyclops customers champions all over the world, while also having huge safety benefits—real-time loads providing a visual cue to take action when close to overload, helping avoid rig-failure and get the most out of equipment. With this in mind, some marine insurance companies are offering reduced insurance premiums to yachts that have them installed—making them very attractive to both racers and cruisers.
