PowerUP Energy Technologies hires former Nissan employee as Chief Technology Officer

Cleantech start-up, PowerUP Energy Technologies has announced the appointment of their new Chief Technology Officer, Yozo Okuyama.

With over two decades of experience in engineering and fuel cell technology, Okuyama has previously held senior-level technology roles at companies including Nissan Motor and Schaeffler Japan. Having joined earlier this month, Okuyama is leading the company's strategic technological planning. He is also responsible for making executive decisions on behalf of the company with respect to technology.

Commenting on his appointment, Okuyama said: "Ever since I visited Estonia in the summer of 2016, I have wanted to visit the country again. Luckily, with the opportunity offered by PowerUP, I feel I was destined to be in Estonia again. I am very excited to take up these new challenges and experience the startup life with young and talented employees from all across the world."

Okuyama further added, "My focus is to develop and produce state-of-art creative fuel cell-based products that customers today really want. I am determined to use my skills here at PowerUP to my best capacity and enrich people's lives with our clean energy solutions."
