Tokyo 2020 Olympics: The Big Wait - No wind means no winners in Enoshima

Australia's Men's and Women's 470 teams have been forced to wait until tomorrow to complete their final two fleet races at Tokyo 2020, with little to no winds prevailing across the Olympic racecourse today.

The races have been postponed to tomorrow with their Medal Races remaining as scheduled on Wednesday.

The team of Mat Belcher and Will Ryan are already assured of a place in the Medal Race, they currently have a 19-point lead over the second-placed team from Spain. Olympic debutantes Nia Jerwood and Monique de Vries are in 16th place and will be ready to fire come the start time of tomorrow's first race.

It will be a busy day for the Aussies, as the Nacra 17 (Jason Waterhouse and Lisa Darmanin) and Finn (Jake Lilley) classes already have their Medal Races scheduled for tomorrow.

Darmanin and Waterhouse sit in fourth place coming into the race, just seven points behind the German team in third and 19 behind Great Britain in second. They will be hoping to add another Olympic medal to their collection after coming home from Rio five years ago with Silver in their bags.

Lilley is no stranger to success in the final stages of regattas. He won the Medal Race at the 2019 Finn Gold Cup in Melbourne and enters tomorrow's race coming off second and a sixth in the final fleet races yesterday. He is currently in seventh place and whilst a medal is mathematically out of reach the big Queenslander is looking to go out with a bang.

Australian Sailing would like to acknowledge and thank the Australian Olympic Committee for the work done in managing the athletes and staff of the Australian Olympic Sailing Selection at the postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

You can follow live tracking of the races on the Australian Sailing Team website.
