The only regatta in the Med exclusively for some of the world's largest and most technologically advanced multihull yachts. The event will kick off on Friday, 27th August with three exhilarating days of racing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Hosted at Port Adriano on the sunny and stunning island of Mallorca, this boutique event is a chance for owners, crew, and spectators to showcase and celebrate these amazing yachts, all over 50' in length. The Multihull Cup will roar back into action for the first time since 2019, after the pandemic forced the cancellation of last year's event. Port Adriano's Commercial Director Nani Mas says he's thrilled to see the Multihull Cup return.

"Our location and social venues are second to none, creating an ideal home base for these spectacular yachts, and the fans who come to watch. The fun and the competition will be even more exciting this year after the long wait of 2020."

Anticipation is building to see these high performance speed machines back under sail again in the Balearics. A location known for reliable breeze and warm conditions, perfect for the regatta environment.

The Cup will welcome back 2018 champion SY Allegra, designed by Nigel Irens. At 84' this Green Marine racing machine is the largest in the fleet. Allegra's race skipper is looking forward to round two with one of the newcomers.

"This performance/cruising multihull niche of the sailing world is growing all the time with a constant stream of great boats entering the fray. I think it should be applauded that an event like this aims to cater specifically for them. I'd love to see it grow every year as a hub where experiences are shared and friendships rekindled."

The 2021 roster has five confirmed entries so far. More past rivals are set to go head-to-head again, including 2016 victor 66' R'Six, by Hudson Hake Marine and 66' Gunboat Coco de Mer, both designed by Morrelli & Melvin famed for their work with the Olympic Narca Class.

New to the slate this year is 60' Give Me Five, a creation of the Outremer Shipyard in France that can reach the speed of a Vendee Globe racing yacht.

And another Gunboat will up the ante on the racecourse with the addition of 68' Highland Fling, engineered by VPLP, among the fastest naval architects in the world. Allegra's race skipper is looking forward to a second chance to take them on.

"We recently had a fantastic regatta racing boat-on-boat with Highland Fling in Sardinia so we're super keen to replicate that excitement again... albeit with a different order in the results" grinned Paul Larsen.

The docks are already buzzing with excitement, and next month this is the stage for post race drinks, debriefs, and celebrations. The regatta village is the perfect antidote to the intensity of the racecourse, and the friendly atmosphere is just one of the things that keeps competitors coming back. This year's 4th edition will be the biggest and best event yet with an incredible line up of impressive multihulls. So get ready for high stakes battles, beautiful scenery, and an amazing spectacle of powerhouse yachts.

Aside from creating the ultimate regatta environment, MHC organisers, with the support of Rigging Projects are also committed to making the world a better place. Once again they've linked up with the Sailors for the Sea Clean Regatta program, aimed at making events more environmentally responsible. Their efforts will eliminate single-use plastic, support local organisations, and arrange a green team of volunteers.

Marinepool will be the official clothing supplier of the Multihull Cup, generously donating T-shirts for the event. Professional multihull crews proudly wear Marinepool's performance sailing wear across the globe, and we are grateful for their support...and happy to stay on trend in Mallorca.

More updates to come as we move into August and inch closer to the start of the regatta. We're looking forward to sharing this fantastic event that celebrates the incredible speed and style of large multihull yachts. Can't wait to see you there!
