ePropulsion, a global leader and market challenger in marine electric propulsion systems and services, has today announced its sponsorship of the Dubai 'Sailing Tigers' team at The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, taking place 6-10 July 2021.

The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge is open to students and professionals from all over the world to take part in three different classes: Energy, Solar and Open Sea. The aim of the challenge is to create a bridge between the engineers of tomorrow and the industry leaders of today, with a week-long programme of racing, innovation, and networking.

ePropulsion was selected by the team of nine aspiring male and female multi-disciplinary engineers from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Dubai to provide its Navy 6.0 electric propulsion model for the challenge. The aim is for the 'Sailing Tigers' to build the fastest and most ecological boat possible, as they participate in the energy class alongside other innovative and competitive teams.

Issa Mousa, Operations Lead of Sailing Tigers commented: "The Sailing Tigers is a team of engineering students from RIT Dubai, along with our mentor, Dr. Ghalib Kahwaji. We completed our field-testing phase last month with great results. As a team we have recorded an incredible speed using the ePropulsion Navy 6.0 outboard motor equipment, boosting our confidence in winning the race in Monaco and proudly representing the United Arab Emirates, as the first team to participate from the Middle East in the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. Our team of engineers were impressed by how easy it was to set up the ePropulsion Navy 6.0 equipment and the smooth and consistent propulsion it offered during both the stationary and field tests."

Danny Tao, CEO of ePropulsion, said: "We are thrilled to be involved in this year's Energy Boat Challenge in Monaco this July by sponsoring the first ever team from the Middle East to take part. For ePropulsion to be able to support young entrepreneurs is an honour and we cannot wait to see the team perform in the energy class. We wish them all the very best of luck at the challenge."
