King George Sailing club welcomed 16 Laser 18 Solo sailors for our combined Open on Sunday. All the sailors were met by very light winds which made for very challenging conditions for everyone except the rescue boats.

The race officer team was able to run three races for the separate fleets.

The Solo trophy was won by Norfolk Broad YC's Mathew Frary with two wins, and Steve Ede (Ardleigh) and Tim Lewis (Silver Wing) neck-and-neck for second and third.

The Laser trophy was run by King George's own Tony Cooper, again with two wins, but it was hotly contested with only one point separating the next four places.

King George Reservoir is London's largest and best sailing area, and since we have reopened after the last lockdown, sailing and windsurfing has been going from strength to strength.
