A quiet but spectacular day for second race of Doyle Sails RNZYS Winter Series

A good fleet of 75 boats contested the second race of the Doyle Sails RNZYS Winter Series on Saturday.

With a strong, cold wind forecast for Sunday, competitors were probably grateful for a quiet if slow life sailing under grey skies and a shifting southerly breeze that struggled to get to 5kts.

While action might have been slow on the water, in the skies there was much to admire with a flight of six WW2 Harvards providing a noisy and spectacular aerobatic display.
