The 2021 Noble Marine UK Musto Skiff National Championships opened for entries on Tuesday 18th May, and all 60 places were booked up within a matter of hours.

This year's regatta, which is due to take place over Thursday 29th July - Sunday 1st August, will be at Sunderland Yacht Club (SYC) and will determine the next UK National Champion for the Musto Skiff class.

Entries for the four-day regatta were provisionally restricted to 60 places in line with Sunderland Yacht Club's event risk management planning, and current UK Government and RYA guidelines in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, if the situation changes, more entries will be made available, and a waiting list system is now in place.

Whilst the UK Nationals is effectively fully booked, those that are still keen to enter are being encouraged to add their names to the waiting list. Places will be allocated on a first come basis as soon as places become available, either through dropouts or via an increase in entry numbers if guidelines change.

GBR Musto Skiff Class Chairman, Ben Schooling, said: "The UK Musto Skiff Nationals was fully booked within a few hours of the online entry going live at 5pm yesterday. All 60 spaces were filled that day, which shows the strength of the class and the keenness of the sailors to get back to racing again. There are also a number of competitors on the waiting list, and the Committee and Club will endeavour to extend the available slots in line with the Government roadmap for easing restrictions from 21st June. We are hopeful to be able to accommodate everyone, so we are encouraging the class to sign up to the waiting list."

Sunderland Yacht Club last hosted the Musto Skiff class for a UK Nationals back in 2004, with Kev Anderson winning the UK Championship Title, joined on the podium by Richard Stenhouse and Martin Boatman. The Title is currently held by Peter Greenhalgh, following his win at the last UK Nationals in September 2020.

Noble Marine Insurance will, once again, be supporting the regatta as the UK Nationals Title Sponsor, along with long-term class sponsor, Musto, who will be providing several prizes from their extensive range of cutting-edge performance apparel and dinghy kit. Hyde Sails will also be providing extra prizes as part of the 2021 UK Hyde Sails Series, with the UK Nationals being counted as the third event in the six-event series.

If you are still keen to enter the 2021 Noble Marine UK Musto Skiff National Championships, you can add your name to the waiting list via the Sunderland Yacht Club website at www.sunderlandyachtclub.co.uk/event/must-skiff-nationals.
