Award-winning sports photographer Paul Sanwell and Grafham Water Sailing Club have partnered together to help the club set new standards in the capture of high-speed action sailing photographs.

The partnership involves Paul attending many of Grafham Water SC's major racing events in 2021 including the Optimist Inlands, Topper National Series, RS inlands, Laser Masters, and the Windsurfing, Merlin-Rocket, Flying Fifteen and Solo open meetings. The images captured will be available to buy through the club's new online photo-gallery, as well as being featured in the club's race reports and website.

Cambridge based Paul, who was the inaugural winner of the IAAF Photograph of the Year award in Monaco during 2017, has previously focused on other sports covering such events as the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics in Lillehammer Norway, PyeongChang 2018 Winter Paralympics, 2018 Vitality Hockey Women's World Cup and the Boat Race in recent years.

"From an early age I've had a fascination with all forms of sailing, and am excited by this opportunity to work with the highly respected Grafham Water Sailing Club to produce images for the media, club members and visitors.", said Paul when asked the reason for the new focus on sailing. "I will still be attending other major sports events including the Paralympic Games in Toyko in September 2021, but will combine that with on-water time at Grafham Water."

Mike Edwards, Commodore of Grafham Water SC said, "We are very pleased to partner with Paul and we look forward to enjoying the images that will be hosted in our new photo gallery."

The Grafham Water SC Photo-library is now live and contains images taken by Paul from the recent RS200 Open Meeting as well as recent club racing activities. The photo gallery can be viewed at www.grafham.org/photos. Paul Sanwell is also available for private commissions at Grafham Water or other UK sailing clubs.

Grafham Water Sailing Club is open to all classes of boat and levels of sailor. For more information about the club please visit their website, www.grafham.org or call the club on 01480 810478. Follow the club on Facebook. Paul can be contacted via his website, www.op-photography.co.uk
