In recent weeks model yacht racers have returned to the water as Covid restrictions have started to lift. The programme for this year has been revised in the light of the roadmap set out by the government with the 2021 National Championship being hosted by Fleetwood MY&PBC.

Fleetwood MY&PBC is sited on a fantastic man-made lake, located 30 mins North of Blackpool. The club has been the host location of many World Championships, with plenty of accommodation available within 10 minutes of the lake and some great pubs and restaurants are to be found nearby. Above all the venue is well known for its stable breezes and windy conditions.

The event schedule starts on Friday 27th August with measurement, registration and practice before three days of racing in a format of heats which allow all competitors a chance to sail against each other in manageable fleet sizes. The event dinner is planned for The Venue in Thornton-Cleveleys with some special spot prizes on offer. The host club's hospitality is legendary so anyone attending is guaranteed a big welcome as well of course as some superb sailing.

All competitors and the class are able to benefit from excellent support from these sponsors:

  • The Venue
  • Graphite Sails
  • Potter Solutions
  • BG Sails and Design
  • Soch Sails Housemartin Sails
  • RMG Sailwinch
  • CatSails
  • PJ Sails
  • Taylor Made Yachts

Entries opened a few weeks ago and now the class is pleased to announce that its 2021 National Championship has delivered a full house of 84 entries registered for the event. A waiting list has been put in place for those who were unlucky enough to register as the 84 entry total was reached.
