The British Contender Class Association is pleased to announce it has eight TT events planned for 2021 and, as a first for this season, the full circuit will be sponsored by Allen.

Allen Brothers of Southminster in Essex are fast becoming the primary hardware supplier of the Contender Class and their products are supplied with the hull from Hartley Boats, Allen Brothers company has grown in the past 60 years plus, to become a major exporter, selling high-performance sailing hardware to the UK and the rest of the world. All newly minted Hartley boats come with Allen hardware as standard and over 30 boats have been built since Hartley's started building in 2018.

This relationship between Contender, Allen and Hartley Boats has lead to new developments such as the self-aligning mainsheet jammer for the new Hartley's Contender.

Standard mainsheet jammer systems usually have the block centrally located above the swivel meaning there is no turning force to swivel the block and jammer to the correct angle. By moving the block outward from the swivel and angling it away from the cleat, the A5266 mainsheet system creates turning force on the block and jammer meaning the cleat will always be forced to point away from the boom and towards the helm. This prevents the sheet from wrapping round the block and gives extra control for fast, smooth tacks and gybes."

Thanks to our generous sponsors there will be plenty of great prizes up for grabs in the eight Allen trophy rounds this year...
