Royal Torbay Yacht Club at the virtual RYA Dinghy Show

A regular and enthusiastic exhibitor at the RYA Dinghy Show over many years the Royal Torbay Yacht Club are pleased to be participating in the 2021 virtual RYA Dinghy Show.

The club has a busy season ahead and will be welcoming the RS Aeros, RS multi-class Summer Regatta, 2000s, Finns, SB20s, K6s, Squibs also choosing Torquay as their 2021 venue.

Torquay is a world-renowned sailing venue hosting America's Cup trials in the 1930's, sailing events of the 1948 Olympics, the UK stopover for La Solitaire de Figaro in 2015 and numerous World, European and National Championships. In 2019 the club hosted the hugely successful and widely acclaimed J/70 World Championships.

A superb championship and event venue for both dinghies and keelboats with experienced race management and shoreside teams. Torquay is a sheltered harbour with fast and easy access to the racing areas.

A friendly and welcoming location overlooking the fine sailing waters of Torbay. The club has fantastic facilities with bar, terraced garden and first-class catering. Its prime location is close to the harbour, car parking and the town centre. A wide range of accommodation is available, all within easy walking distance We are looking forward to meeting up with Class Associations looking for a venue for future championships and events.

Always keen to welcome new members, the club is an RYA Training Centre, RYA OnBoard Club and British Youth Sailing Recognised Club, offering a busy racing programme and a wide range of other activities.

Just 0.2 of a point separates the leaders going into the final day A blustery offshore wind greeted the 46 Squibs assembled in Torquay for their National Championship. A perfect, if difficult, day's sailing on the now tranquil waters of Torbay The Race Team from Royal Torbay under the excellent leadership of Bill Butcher, PRO, again provided a perfect, if difficult, day's sailing on the now tranquil waters of Torbay. The 46-strong fleet get the first race away on the fourth attempt The 46 Squibs launched on Sunday took part in a Practice Race and the first Points Race on Monday in a variable westerly wind. Hornet Nationals at Torbay Day 1
Rain clears after a few coffees with two good races held 19 Hornets have ventured down to the Royal Torbay Yacht Club for the 2025 Hornet Nationals. The morning started wet so most of the fleet took refuge in a local establishment for a cooked breakfast and a few coffees. Posted on 6 Jun
