A permanent position has become available for an Engineer/Fabricator with experience in aluminium and 316 stainless steels to join a growing team. The applicant must be able to carry out the manufacture of items from start to finish, be self-motivated and able to work as part of a team.
Duties:
- Tig welding
- Fabricating with stainless steel and aluminium
- Fabrication tasks such as cutting, sawing, bending
- Lathe experience would be beneficial
- Strict visual quality control
- Operating work equipment/fabrication machinery safely, ensuring that safety checks are carried out
- Diagnosing and resolving design and functional issues arising in the course of a project
- Interpreting customer drawings
- Communicating with suppliers when necessary
- Taking responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work
- Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for all work tasks
- Any other duties deemed necessary to the company
Essential Requirements:
- A sound knowledge of manufacturing
- Competent use of hand tools
- Ability to follow engineering drawing/schematics/BOM's
- Practically minded
- Good communication skill, both written and spoken
- Good presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Self-management skills
- Take pride in their work and have a professional approach to it
- Attention to detail
- Able to work to tight tolerances
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage your time effectively
- Have a full UK driving licence
- Basic health and safety understanding
