The CIC is continuing its commitment to sailing by signing a three-year title partner agreement with the Normandy Channel Race. In partnering the double-handed CIass40 race, it is joining forces with Sirius Événements, organiser of the famous Norman event.

Title partner to The Transat CIC and the next two editions (2022 and 2026) of La Route du Rhum - Destination Guadeloupe, the CIC is taking on the role of title partner of the Normandy Channel Race alongside the City of Caen, the Urban community of Caen la Mer, the Calvados Department, the Normandy Region and the Caen Normandy Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which have been involved in the project since its inception and have been supporting the event for the past 11 years.

Thanks to this major private partnership, the CIC Normandy Channel Race will be able to give concrete expression to its development ambitions and the CIC will reaffirm its economic, environmental and societal commitments with all the protagonists of the blue economy.

Anne-Sophie Van Hoove, CEO of the CIC Nord Ouest explains their approach: "Already committed to some prestigious races like The Transat CIC and the Route du Rhum - Destination Guadeloupe, the CIC is proud to add its name to a race that sets such great store by the promotion of an entrepreneurial spirit that is synonymous with competitive sailing and exceptional human adventures. Through this partnership, it's the entrepreneurial spirit of the CIC, its clients and its associates that comes into its own, both within the Norman region and well beyond."

Collectively involved and committed to the project since the creation of the Normandy Channel Race, the 4 authorities partnering Sirius Evènements, the City of Caen, the Urban community of Caen la Mer, the Calvados Department and the Normandy Region, wholeheartedly support the decision to welcome the CIC as the event's main partner. "The CIC's arrival alongside us confirms the appeal of our joint commitment to boating and offshore racing, and will enable their development to be expanded".

"The CIC's arrival as title partner in the new CIC Normandy Channel Race is a vital new step in the development of the event. With the CIC also present at other prestigious offshore racing events, this latest commitment comes as recognition of the work carried out with the region's major authorities over the past 11 years. It's also indicative of the strong motivation to carve out a new path in an event with Norman roots, whose national and international potential has been evident for several years", states Manfred Ramspacher, manager of Sirius Événements.
