Phuket Yacht Club: starting the 20121 sailing season

Phuket Yacht Club 2021 Keelboat and Multihull Club Champs

All are welcome to join PYC (Phuket Yacht Club) Sunday sailing race. Breakfast is available at the Club from 09.00h onwards. Anybody wishing to sail but doesn't have a boat are advised to turn up before 10:00 and we will do our best to get you a ride.

Eligibility and entry – The series is open to all keelboats and multihulls with an overall length of greater than 6m. Eligible boats may enter by completing an entry form on each race day and by paying the racing nomination fee to the Race Officer or appointed PYC representative.

Fees – There is no entry fee for boats. Crew fees are THB200 per person for PYC members, THB300 for non-members.

PLEASE NOTE: Crew fees are applicable to ALL participating crew. Children sail for free.

Classes – Multihulls and Monohulls

Course – Ao Chalong Bay and surrounding area, details announced at race briefing.

Rules – The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020.

Handicap system – Performance handicap system as managed and monitored by the PYC. Note - “A boat's handicap may be adjusted after every race. An adjustment in handicap number is not grounds for redress." Race Briefing: Saturday 16th 10:30 hrs

Course: one or more races will be scheduled per day pending weather conditions.

Courses will be made available at the briefing.

Overall prizes for combined results will be awarded after the final race on Sunday.

The number of prizes will depend on the number of entries in each class.

Insurance: each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance to a minimum cover of THB20m, or the equivalent, for all races entered.

Disclaimer of liability: competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS rule 4, Decision to Race. The organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
