Southwest Offshore Group Series formed

The Southwest Offshore Group Series (SOGS) will consist of 15 southwest regional coastal and offshore races throughout the season being combined to offer a southwest area championship. The majority of races are already established within local race calendars.
Scoring will be weighted to reflect course distance and will be using the high points scoring system. This also allows for bonus points to be gained by visiting yachts from outside the host port which has the additional aim to attract more boats to local races, in doing so will help the yacht to gain higher series points.
Classes will be offered for full crews, half crews (half of the IRC crew number), double handed and solo sailors, Monohull and Multihulls.
The series will consist of the best 6 scores to count in divisional results whilst all races sailed will count for the overall championship.
Entry fees are paid as usual to the organising club for the individual races that qualify for SOGS points.
