Shanghai Yachting Club encourages a surge of watersports lifestyle

Yangtze River Delta region covering parts of Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang provinces is a newly designated economic development zone in China.
What is atypical is that the sports industry will take the lead in the growth and development this time, encouraging a surge of sports-related economic activities in the region.
Shanghai Yacht Club (SYC), squarely located in the centre of this Delta by Yuandan Lake, is one of the pioneers in water sports in China. A training base for many professional sailing athletes, as well as the nurturing ground for the young generation of sailors.
On October 31st, with the support of Bright Dairy & Food as the official sponsor, SYC organized a youth sailing event that has 255 sailboats racing on Yuandan Lake.
Sports competition aside, events like this signal the coming of a new era in China that will see sports as part of the everyday lifestyle for the multitude of millions in China.
