Scarborough's competitive fleet of Hunter 707's just grew larger thanks to the kind assistance of the 707 Association.
Rear Commodore, Rudi Barman, approached the association to borrow the boat 'Miss Moneypenny' to allow Leeds University Sailing Club to come over each weekend and sail in the Autumn and Winter series last year.
The arrangement has been a convincing success and their performance in the series was excellent winning racing flags on several occasions.
Having risk assessed the racing and facilities, the next series starts this October and two other universities are also keen to take part. York and Sheffield have shown interest and further boats are being sought.
Commodore Clive Murray said "This is excellent news that other university crews want to participate. We have to be incredibly careful and have significant measures to allow them to take part in respect of the Covid 19, but it is great to see our fleet of 707's expand and we appreciate all the help from the Association as well as our own Harbour Authority."
