2000 Class Millennium Series 2020 Event at Keyhaven Yacht Club - Preview

by Keyhaven YC 14 Aug 2020 11:43 BST 5-6 September 2020

Keyhaven Yacht Club is hosting a 2000 class Open Meeting on 5th & 6th September. Get your entry in quickly as the event is limited to 30 boats.

Keyhaven Yacht Club is situated in one of the most beautiful harbours on the Solent. The harbour is shielded by the massive shingle bar that leads to the famous Hurst Castle situated at its strategic position, guarding the Western approaches to the Solent originally built by Henry VIII.

Enjoy the stunning surroundings of the Isle of Wight, Hurst Castle and Lighthouse. If you get lucky you might even see our resident seal Sammy!

The sailing area is in the Western Solent in the lee of Hurst Spit at the end of Keyhaven River. There is a lovely sail out the river past the salt marshes and river moorings to the sailing area.

Racing starts at midday on both days, five races to be completed over the two days. If more than four races are sailed there will be one discard.

Prize-giving will be held after the last race (estimated Sunday 16:30) where teas, coffees and homemade cakes will be available.

The club bar is open daily serving lunches and drinks. Packed lunches are available for sailing and a BBQ will be available on the Saturday evening. Pre-order when registering.

Toilets are available in the clubhouse but the showers / changing rooms and members galley are currently unavailable due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Register before 31st August for a discount via sailevent.net/enter/kyc

Further details can be found on the Keyhaven Yacht Club website at www.keyhavenyc.co.uk
