The world's leading premium technical sailing brand, Musto, has today welcomed visitors to its first ever US store in America's sailing capital of Annapolis, Maryland.

The store is the British heritage brand's first fully Musto-owned retailer outside of the United Kingdom, demonstrating the importance of the US market in their global expansion strategy, as they push to develop their presence outside of Europe. The technical performance innovator announced earlier this year a collaboration with the US IMOCA Class sailing team, 11th Hour Racing Team, who aim to compete in The Ocean Race 2022-2023 - one of the world's longest and toughest professional sporting events.

Commenting on this landmark event for the brand, Musto's Head of Marketing, Nick Houchin, said, "The opening of the Annapolis Musto store is significant for us as a business. Our US customer base is growing, and we can now showcase our wider technical sailing and marine lifestyle offering all under one roof. Alongside our existing partnership program in the US, which includes joining forces with 11th Hour Racing Team in a collaboration that will see us provide both their on and off water kit, the store will enable us to make waves on both sides of the Atlantic. The sailing community is ready to bounce back from the pandemic - it's an exciting time for us."

Musto is collaborating with 11th Hour Racing Team to innovate and create the next generation of HPX, they will also be innovating together to develop a range of sustainable clothing for sailors in future collections. The Newport, RI based team will have a strong presence in the Annapolis store, with one of their Musto HPX ocean racing suits on display to the public, alongside imagery captured from their recent training programme in Europe.

US Musto ambassador and skipper of 11th Hour Racing Team, Charlie Enright, is looking forward to stepping foot instore, and celebrating this major move for the technical clothing brand.

"Musto is an industry leader and a brand built upon a reputation for designing and engineering the best technical sailing clothing in the world," he said. "Our partnership with them is built upon many shared values, including a forward-looking approach to sustainability management. It's great that Musto will now have a base in the US, from which we can share the innovative clothing we will work on together," he commented.

The Annapolis Musto store, which can be found at 118 Main Street. Annapolis, MD, 21401, will be open 10am until 7pm daily and is Covid-secure, with a spacious interior allowing for

social distancing. Facemasks are required for customers, and daily employee screenings are in place to ensure the shop remains Covid-free.
