Aircalin Match Racing Cup at Cercle Nautique Calédonien - Overall

by Laurence Bouchet 2 Aug 2020 06:22 BST 1-2 August 2020

The race course was in turmoil! It was after two hectic final matches that Tom and his crew won the Aircalin Match Racing Cup against Yann Rigal.

Tom, third in the ranking yesterday after the two Round Robins, won his semi-final against Corentin Goulon and his crew, 3 wins to zero.

The other semi-final saw Yann Rigal (first yesterday) against Tugdual Piriou. Yann won 3 wins to 1.

The petite-final for places 3 and 4 took place between Corentin Goulon who won 2 matches to zero against Tugdual Piriou.

The final between Tom and Yann was very hot. Penalties brought the Baie des Citrons race zone to life.

Tom won two victories to zero against Yann.

At the finish, Tom declared, "We love the game of match racing, it was a good weekend with big opponents and great matches."

The Aircalin Match Racing Cup took place without any foreign teams due to the health crisis, but which was a real treat for us.

Bravo and thanks to the umpire, race committee, technical staff and the crews for this great event.
