Tankoa Yachts unveils the T450: A 45-metre yacht with the soul of a much larger vessel

by Tankoa Yachts 8 Jul 2020 08:33 BST

Tankoa's first yacht under 50 metres extends its superyacht range into more compact vessels of just over 400GT, without sacrificing the brand's hard-earned reputation for quality and comfort combined with innovation and elegance.

"Building on the extraordinary success of our 50-metre platform with Bintador and Vertige already delivered and two more in build, the T450 confirms Tankoa's drive to build yachts below 500GT that are designed with a big boat mentality and quality" says Giuseppe Mazza, Tankoa Sales Manager. "This new 45-metre model has been designed to provide maximum flexibility, and in terms of interior and exterior space it feels like a much larger vessel."

Built in steel and aluminium, the exterior design of the T450 continues the Tankoa family feeling but adds a bold vertical architecture to the superstructure and window shapes that is balanced by clean horizontal lines.

Unusually for a 45-metre yacht of 405GT, the T450 can accommodate 12 guests in 6 comfortable cabins. This accommodation comprises a full-beam owner's stateroom and a VIP suite on the main deck forward as well as four en-suite cabins on the lower deck.

"When Tankoa asked us to prepare a proposal for the new T450, our instinct was to go through our past experience with yachts of similar and larger volume to come up with a precise vision of what had to be in the design," says Giorgio Cassetta. "The yacht packs some amazing real estate and amenities, while presenting an elegant styling that is intentionally free of any useless decoration. The interior design enjoys ample uninterrupted spaces, warmed by the usage of marine materials and earthy hues. The construction criteria and rich specification will make the T450 a truly unique offer in this size range."

An open-plan dining room/main salon with full-height glazing overlooks the sweeping, open aft deck, which recalls the design of some super sailing yachts. This huge terraced area functions as an open-air beach club with a glass-fronted pool at its centre flanked by staircases down to the water-level swim platform. But the flexible design provides alternative layout solutions, such as aft-facing seating on the lower level and a large bar unit on the upper level.

The spacious sundeck offers the option of another pool, sunbeds, shaded dining area, a forward bar with sofa seating and a dayhead.

The bridge deck offers more al fresco dining for a full complement of guests and a sky lounge that can function as a media room. There is another generous lounging/social area on the open foredeck in front of the wheelhouse. where the guest tender and rescue render are stowed.

In addition to the guest cabins on the lower deck, there is a large lazarette in the stern, the galley and crew dinette, extra cold storage, laundry and accommodation for 8 crew members plus the captain on the bridge deck with direct access to the wheelhouse.

The T450 can be fitted with hybrid propulsion to reduce fuel consumption and emissions, as well as noise and vibration to a mimimum.
