The trimaran Wilde Perle II is the winner of the the 5th edition of the MidsummerSail, reaching the northernmost point of the Baltic Sea in 6 days, 0 hours, 49 minutes and 29 seconds.
Fighting to beat their own record, Universitas under skipper Jannis Kaminski-Reith took first monohull, with the ten strong crew needing 6 days, 7 hours 14 minutes and 7 seconds to cross the whole of the Baltic Sea, nach 6 Tagen, 7 Stunden, 14 Minuten, 7 seconds - five hours longer than the Universitas earlier attempt under a different boat and crew in 2017.
Light winds made made the stretch a challenge for all crews, so even on a Dragonfly 28, winning skipper Karlheinz Müller and his crew Martin Lindner of Wilde Perle II were unable to beat the existing record for the longest regatta on the Baltic.
The experience on this stretch made the challenge so special and they were glad to beat their direct competition, Firlefanz, who had followed them for most of the race.
