Nominations are now open for the MS Amlin Seamanship Award 2020. Who will you nominate to win this prestigious title?

Despite a late start to the boating season around the world and with sailors finally able to slip their moorings, the time has come to begin the search for the most significant acts of Seamanship. The MS Amlin Boat Insurance team want to hear your nominations and the associated stories of those who have gone above and beyond out on the water, across the diverse spectrum of boating and watersports communities.

From acts of selflessness, achieving personal challenges, pushing boundaries or helping to build the reputation of boating, the definition of award winning seamanship is up to you. In 2019 the trophy was presented to Roy P. Disney and crew for their actions during the Transpac Race 2019.

For 2020 MS Amlin Boat Insurance are offering the winner and an associated nominator each a pair of tickets to the YJA MS Amlin Gala Awards Dinner for an evening celebrating sailing achievements, alongside the chance to mingle with boating stars and key members of the marine industry.

Business Development Manager, Paul Knox-Johnston said, "Presenting the MS Amlin Seamanship Award is great way of recognising and paying tribute to acts of great seamanship, whether out on the water or ashore. Examining the entries to find a winner is always a heart warming process and really highlights the positives of the great community we are proud to be a part of."

To nominate an individual, crew member or team please submit no more than 250 words explaining why you feel they should win. Entries close on 31st August 2020 and the winner will be contacted by 2nd September 2020. Entries should be emailed to . To find out more or read the competition terms and conditions visit
