We are delighted to announce a new partnership has been formed between GUL and the Hansa Class UK. GUL will support us with sponsorship and prizes throughout the season and we are excited to begin our new relationship with them.

Speaking on behalf of GUL, Jack Knowles stated that "GUL are delighted to be supporting a class that holds such wonderful values at it's core. The Hansa Class has a vision of inclusivity; enabling people that have previously found barriers between themselves and sailing to gain access to our fantastic sport.

GUL is a British watersports brand that has been developing technical performance apparel for over 40 years and we are also very keen to empower more people to participate in all forms of watersports. Our range of products represent excellent value, cover all watersports and are suitable for people of all abilities which aligns us perfectly with the Hansa Class.

We look forward to helping the UK Hansa class association spread the word to help grow the class and it's following even more over the coming years".

Hansa Class UK are delighted to be working with GUL and finding out more about their exciting products.

Ron Sawford, on behalf of Hansa Class UK is enormously grateful to Jack and his team at GUL: "It has been for a long time our objective to attract more sailors of all abilities and sailing skill levels to our events. One of the major drives of the RYA has been focused on encouraging more of the population to take up the activity of sailing and the current overall drive of Sport England is to support incentives that bring people of all abilities into sporting activity.

The sponsorship, guidance and exposure that GUL are giving us is going to raise our profile within accessible sailing and enable us to meet our number one objective by providing a wonderful incentive for people to race in our events. This offers us great benefits; we'll see new people taking up sailing and more existing sailors rising to the challenge of our various racing events."

In these strange times where no sailing can take place for the foreseeable future, Hansa have had to adapt. Today we start the first of a 10 event series using Virtual Regatta, the Hansa Gul VR Series 2020. We keep it engaging and fun by inviting our sailors to get together in a Zoom meeting while the races are running. There is a lot of banter and shouting, making it as close to normality as possible. Prizes will be awarded for the first 3 places for the series, and spot prizes throughout thanks to GUL's sponsorship. For people who are particularly vulnerable and isolated it is great that we can at least get together as a community and continue to enjoy our sport in some way.
