Headlines:

  • Second day of the Worlds finishes with men's fleets splitting in to gold and silver
  • Women's fleet continue as one
  • All fleets complete scheduled three races
  • Another southerly wind for all fleets - 17-20 knots throughout racing
  • Emma Wilson has another steady day with three top ten finishes to sit fifth overall
  • Tom Squires in 12th with a 5,6,7
  • Scotland's Andy Brown moves up a place to 17th overall
  • Kieran Martin misses out on gold fleet sitting in 39th overall

What they said:

Emma Wilson (20, Christchurch, Dorset), RS:X women: "Another three top ten's today so I'm pretty happy. Everyone is pretty nervous when it's super windy but when we actually went out it wasn't that bad. It was fun windy rather than survival mode and I had good speed."

Tom Squires (26, Kingston Bagpuize, Oxfordshire), RS:X men: "Today for me was pretty average. I was struggling a bit for pace and the other guys seem to be really quick. I feel emotionally and physically drained right now. Today were my conditions and I didn't seize the opportunity. It's so hard to even get a top five in the split fleet. I'm disappointed with where I think I am and should be."

Andy Brown (20, Glasgow, Scotland), RS:X men: "It was a solid day. I did what I needed to do to get into gold fleet in a good position moving forward. It was a lot breezier and usually the bigger guys are a lot quicker than me in these conditions but I am happy with how I did. I think I had a good high mode."
