The Tokyo Olympics are just around the corner. Join the journey at the 2020 49er, 49erFX, and Nacra 17 World Championship. The fleets are in Geelong, Australia and for many it’s their national selection for who gets to go to the games. The is the second of back to back World Champions down under. Two months ago the world watched Peter Burling and Blair Tuke (NZL) get back on top of the podium after an almost two year absence winning the America’s Cup and nearly winning the Volvo Ocean Race.

Annemiek Bekkering and Annette Duetz (NED) became the first ever two time World Champions in the 49erFX, and they are looking to win their third in a row.

The Nacra 17 fleet has some of the most critical selection to go. 2019 World Champions Vittorio Bissaro and Maelle Frascari (ITA) have yet to secure their national selection. In the fight are 2018 World Champions Ruggero Tita and Caterina Banti (ITA) also won the 2019 test event. The selectors in Italy may very well decide which world champion will go to the games based on their results here this week.
