Ocean Safety are delighted to have appointed legendary round the world sailor Dee Caffari MBE to represent the company as an Ambassador for their key ranges of lifesaving products, while supporting a strong message of safety awareness.

Ocean Safety recognises that sailors like Dee are the best at what they do. Dee is the first woman to have sailed single-handed and non-stop around the world in both directions and the only woman to have sailed non-stop around the world a total of three times. Her evaluation and feedback from the company's products, as she continues with her sailing endeavours while pushing ultimate boundaries, will reinforce Ocean Safety's position as a leading specialist in the worldwide supply of marine safety equipment. Meanwhile, her trust in the capability of the lifesaving kit she and her crews will be using, will endorse Ocean Safety's reputation for quality and reliability.

In 2006 Dee became the first woman to sail solo, non-stop, around the world against the prevailing winds and currents and was awarded an MBE in recognition of her achievement. She recently led 'Turn the Tide on Plastic' in the Volvo Ocean Race 2017/18, the first mixed gender youth team to compete in the iconic round the globe event.

"We are incredibly honoured to have Dee Caffari on our team here at Ocean Safety", comments Managing Director Alistair Hackett. "Dee will help us to continue with our campaign of improving safety awareness amongst the boating community. She is skilled at making the importance of safety at sea the norm."

Dee Caffari says "I am delighted to join the Ocean Safety Team. Safety is always of paramount importance no matter if you are alone or in a team." She adds "Creating the right culture, with trust and reliability in the equipment and with each other, allows a team to push the boundaries of performance with confidence. I hope to help promote this way of thinking and to continue to challenge and encourage innovation with new technologies. I want to help develop continuous improvement with honest and open feedback within the safety parameters for sailing."
