Another Miami in the books! The 2020 Hempel World Cup Series wrapped up today leaving sailors with a lot of mixed emotions.

In the Finn, CSDS member, Kyle Martin got Canadians cheering from far and wide. With a good week of racing and putting up good results, Kyle qualified for the medal race giving his opponents a run for their money. Leading the pack during the race, he comments, "I got a marginal start went for the left-hand side and got a pretty good shift and after that, it was just staying on the pressure and on the shifts."

This Finn sailor crossed the finish line in second place taking home a silver medal! "Miami can be tricky, but the key to success, in my opinion, is really to just roll with it."

Three-time Olympian, Nikola Girke proved that she still has what it takes during this week in Miami. The RS:X veteran, put up some good scores this week staying pretty consistent. With a 2nd place finish in today's medal race, she caps off the event in 4th overall.

Hearts were pounding on the Laser course today as five of our Canadian sailors hit the water for a quest to Tokyo. CSDS member, Hugh Macrae led the fleet for most of the race and was able to score a 3rd place finish, putting him in 6th overall, right behind his teammate, Robert Davis. While the sailors pushed through, Trinidad and Tobago opponent, Andrew Lewis, placed 4th overall after today's medal race, securing his country a spot for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

A big shoutout goes to all of our Canadian sailors who competed at this event! All their results can be found here.
