One of Australia's premier yacht racing events, the Grinders Coffee SOLAS Big Boat Challenge, returns this month, setting sail next Tuesday (10 December) in Sydney Harbour.

This is the second year Grinders Coffee has held naming-rights for the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia's (CYCA) race which is one of Australian sailing's most-watched lead-up events for the iconic Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.

"We are delighted to partner with CYCA for the second year," said Sally Byrne, General Manager of Grinders Coffee. "This is an opportunity for us to share and celebrate our passion for coffee with racegoers, and hopefully make it a memorable coffee experience for all."

Grinders will be serving its premium artisan roasted coffee at the CYCA in Sydney's Rushcutters Bay - the traditional gathering place for the race, together with the carefully crafted nitrogen cold brew from the Grinders Coffee caravan called the short black.

"We're thrilled to announce the extension and have Grinders Coffee on board the Grinders Coffee SOLAS Big Boat Challenge and serving Grinders Coffee at the CYCA in the Clubhouse too," CYCA Commodore Paul Billingham said. "Last year's event was a great success - and this year will be even bigger, with record levels of interest ahead of the historic 75th Sydney Hobart Yacht Race."

The 2019 Grinders Coffee SOLAS Big Boat Challenge, featuring commentary from Gordon Bray AM, Channel 7's Peter Shipway and Olympic silver medallist Olivia Price, will be live streamed on the CYCA website and on CYCA's page on Facebook.

To celebrate its Melbourne heritage and Australia's love of coffee, Grinders Coffee is proud to support iconic events such as the SOLAS Big Boat Challenge, the Victoria Racing Club Spring Carnival 2019 Melbourne Cup and the Tour Down Under.

Grinders Coffee will play a part in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, with participants and fans able to enjoy the locally-roasted coffee in the official Rolex Sydney Hobart - Hobart Village from 27 December at Constitution Dock, Hobart.
