A Keyhaven Yacht Club member has been officially recognised for his exceptional and inspirational contribution to Club boating at grass roots level at a prestigious award ceremony in London last Friday.

Nominated by the Club members and selected as a winner by the RYA awards panel, long-time Keyhaven Yacht Club member David Howden was delighted to receive his RYA Community Award from Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal. David's unwavering commitment and willingness to participate and engage in every aspect of Club life has been instrumental in its continued success and has helped to foster a thriving sailing community of all ages, abilities and aptitudes. This award is only granted to a handful of deserving people each year and Keyhaven YC is immensely proud to see David receive this well-deserved recognition.

An extremely well-respected member, David has served on the General Committee and as a Trustee for a number of years and helped oversee much of the Club's infrastructure redevelopment and has been a participant in the Club racing scene and pottering. David says of the award "It was an honour and privilege to represent the Club at the Award Ceremony."

Keyhaven Yacht Club offer David its warmest congratulations.
